Matte Black Kitchen with Island: Elegant and Functional Design

When we think of a dream kitchen, we usually imagine a space that combines aesthetics, practicality, and comfort. And that’s precisely what we’ve achieved in this project in Torre del Mar: a modern black kitchen with an island, designed for those seeking a sophisticated, functional environment with a touch of personality.

At our kitchen store in Malaga, we understand that every project is unique because every family and every home are. This kitchen is a great example of how, with good planning, quality materials, and a design adapted to a lifestyle, it’s possible to transform a room into the heart of the home.

The elegance of matte black in a modern kitchen

The fronts of this kitchen are made of 22 mm matte black PET, a finish that conveys strength, sobriety, and modernity. Matte black, far from being a risky color, brings serenity and elegance when combined with the right lighting and other contrasting elements.

In this case, the Exquisite laminate wall units provide a perfect balance, softening the black color and lending dynamism to the entire design. The result is a design with character, yet without losing brightness or warmth.

Furthermore, the integrated opening system in the fronts and the hidden Gola in the wall units contribute to maintaining a clean and minimalist aesthetic, with no visible handles, enhancing the straight lines and a sense of order.

A durable and timeless countertop

The countertop is always one of the key elements in a kitchen, both visually and functionally. In this project, we opted for a 2 cm thick Techlam Basic Ice countertop, a cutting-edge porcelain tile that guarantees resistance to scratches, stains, and high temperatures.

Its light tone provides a contrast against the black fronts, illuminating the entire design and creating a visual harmony that balances the strength of the dark color. Furthermore, its 2 cm thickness is perfect for maintaining a robust and modern look without overwhelming the space.

Balay Appliances: Technology for Everyday Use

In this kitchen, we opted for Balay appliances, a brand that combines efficiency, design, and ease of use. The integration of the refrigerator and freezer into the cabinets maintains a uniform aesthetic, while the extractor hood on the island provides a modern and practical solution, eliminating the need for a traditional hood.

A very interesting detail is the retractable outlet on the island, a discreet solution that appears only when needed, avoiding visual interruptions in the countertop. This makes it easier to use small appliances on the island, such as a blender or food processor, without sacrificing aesthetics.

An Island with Character and Personality

The island in this kitchen is much more than a workspace: it is the heart of the room.

On the one hand, it offers a large preparation and cooking surface, thanks to the extractor hood and the extra counter space. On the other, it becomes a social gathering place, where you can sit down for breakfast, chat while cooking, or enjoy a snack with friends.

In addition, we’ve incorporated a dual-temperature wine cellar facing the living room, a detail that makes all the difference. This integration not only provides comfort but also elevates the design by creating a space designed for enjoyment and sharing.

The mustard-colored stools with a wooden frame and matte black metal provide the perfect touch of color. This contrast breaks with the sobriety of black and white, injecting vitality and warmth into the space.

Integrated Lighting and Outlets: Smart Functionality

The integrated lighting in the work area ensures that every surface is perfectly illuminated, avoiding distracting shadows and making cooking more comfortable.

Added to this are the integrated utility outlets, a practical solution that allows you to always have the necessary power for small appliances at hand, without the need for visible cables or unsightly installations.

Small details like these make the difference between a conventional kitchen and a modern, well-planned one.

A Kitchen Designed for Enjoyment

If anything defines this project, it’s its ability to combine functionality, design, and comfort. It’s not just about having a beautiful kitchen, but about ensuring that each element fulfills a practical function that makes everyday life easier.

The choice of matte black combined with the Exquisite laminate, the Techlam Basic Ice countertop, the Balay appliances, and the multifunctional island make this modern black kitchen with an island a space where cooking, socializing, and enjoying life come together in a single concept.

Why choose a matte black kitchen with an island?

Black is trendy in kitchens because it conveys personality, but also because it’s a timeless color. A black kitchen never goes out of style, and with the latest in anti-fingerprint finishes, its maintenance is simple and practical.

Meanwhile, the island is an increasingly sought-after element because it multiplies the possibilities of the space: it provides extra work surface, creates additional storage, and, above all, becomes a convivial space that connects the kitchen with the rest of the home.

In this project, the combination of both elements—matte black and the island—results in a unique kitchen with a contemporary and highly versatile feel.

At Idecocina, we believe that every project should reflect the lifestyle of those who will enjoy it. It’s not about imposing trends, but rather adapting the best solutions to each home and each need.

This matte black kitchen with an island in Torre del Mar is a clear example of how a well-thought-out design can completely transform a home, providing elegance, practicality, and a touch of distinction.

This kitchen is more than just a space for preparing food: it’s a place for sharing, enjoying, and living. The matte black design, multifunctional island, technological details, and touches of color make it a unique and timeless space.

If you’re thinking about taking the step toward your own renovation, a matte black kitchen with an island may be the perfect option to transform your home.
